If you are an aspiring actor, director, playwright or filmmaker then you may want to get down to a community centre near you this week.
Two filmmaking sessions and three sets of theatre workshops will be taking place at different locations around the borough. They are part of the council's summer arts programme.
One of the filmmaking sessions is for people with learning disabilities who are aged 11-25.
This is at Goldcrest Youth Centre in New Addington and runs from Monday 12 august to Friday 16 August. It costs just £15 and will teach new skills in acting, filming and editing.
The remainder are at Parchmore Community Centre, Samuel Coleridge Taylor Centre, Purley Youth Centre and a central Croydon location that will be confirmed shortly.
These are for anyone aged from 11 to 19 and are free of charge but have to be booked in advance due to their popularity.
Councillor Tim Pollard, cabinet member for children, families and learning, said: “These week-long workshops were tremendously popular last year and people should book early to avoid missing out on a great opportunity.”
