A 75-year-old woman had to be cut free from her car after a crash in Cheam on Saturday.

The woman, driving a Honda Jazz, collided with a BMW containing two adult women and two teenage girls in Northey Avenue shortly after 9.30am.

Firefighters had to cut the 75-year-old woman from the car as she was suffering from pain down her right-hand side and could not get out of the stricken vehicle.

The driver and one of the teenagers in the BMW were injured but did not need hospital treatment.

Both cars were written-off and police closed a section of the road while firefighters and paramedics were on the scene.
