The streets of Wimbledon were awash with colour this weekend as a Hindu chariot festival passed through the town.
Hundreds turned out to take part in the annual Ratha Yatra, chariot festival, of the Shree Ghanapathy Temple in Effra Road on Sunday.
During the festival the deities of Puri Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are placed in ornate chariots and paraded through the streets.
Originating in India it is one of the oldest festivals in the world and is celebrated by devotees of Lord Krishna all over the world.
