Shops in Worcester Park are going to be kitted out with new signs and lighting.

Councillors at the Development Control Committee meeting on Wednesday, August 7, agreed, as part of a £1.9million Outer London Fund project, the shops from 2-20 Central Road will be improved.

The project has also funded regular farmers and craft markets with the next one being planned for Lavender Corner, in Worcester Park, from 9.30am to 1.30pm on August 17.

Councillor Kirsty Jerome, chair of the Outer London Fund project board, said: “The regeneration of Worcester Park and North Cheam is progressing very well and this is another important piece in the jigsaw.

“Sutton Council is absolutely determined to do everything it can to support business in the borough and this new look will attract shoppers and help traders.”
