Robber Alex Day has gone on the run and is wanted by police.

The 19-year-old Carshalton man was jailed last year for a robbing a teenager of his wallet, iPod and phone as he walked outside St Helier Hospital in June.

He was sentenced to one year and five months at Croydon Crown Court in January but was released on licence in May.

He has failed to comply with the conditions of his release and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Day's last known address was St Barnabas Road in Carshalton and he is known to have connections to Sutton, Wallington and Mitcham.

Police say anyone who sees Day should call police on 999 immediately. If you have any other information you can call police on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
