The riches of Autumn will be on display in all their glory at a flower show by one of England's biggest horticultural associations.

Ewell Horticultural Association is holding its annual autumn flower show with keen gardeners showing off their flowers, vegetables and fruit.

There will be fierce competition for the main trophies for dahlias and chrysanthemums, as well the top prize, the Challenge Cup.

Prizes also on offer for everything from roses to carrots, marrows, pears, apples and plums.

Rosettes are also up for grabs for domestic gods and goddesses who can whip up delicious treats such as lemon meringue pie and banana chocolate mini muffins.

Children can also join in the fun with prizes on offer for their vegetables, arts and crafts such as decorated plant pots and drawings of animals they've seen in their garden.

Association chairman, Dave Tarrant, says, "We're expecting a great show this year as we've had good weather over the summer so people have been able to grow really great produce."

Established in 1865, The Ewell Horticultural Association serves the gardeners of Ewell and Stoneleigh.

It is thought to be among the oldest and largest horticulture associations in England, with more than 2,000 members.

The show will take place on Saturday, September 7, between 2.30 and 4.30 pm at Blenheim High School, Epsom. Admission is free and there is a raffle, and plant sale, with tea and cakes on sale.
