An author from Elmbridge has secured the chance to represent Gerry Anderson, creator of the Thunderbirds.
Author Garry Vaux was chosen as an ambassador to represent the Anderson legacy.
He said: βI feel immensely proud to be an ambassador for Gerry Anderson.
βHe was inspirational, an innovator and has sealed his place in TV history.β
He will represent the TV great, whose credits include Captain Scarlet and Stingray, at the first ever Gerry Anderson convention on the weekend of April 19 and 20 next year.
The event, named Andercon, will be held at the Park Inn Hotel at Heathrow and celebrate the life and legacy of British television's most celebrated science fiction producer, who died last year.
