A grateful daughter has raised £5,000 for the hospital that saved her mother’s life.

Natalie Bowden organised a family fun day and parachuted from 12,000ft to raise the cash for the vascular team at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, as a thank you for treating mother Wendy Elliott’s arterial vascular disease.

Mrs Bowden said: “The vascular team at St Peter’s Hospital have been fantastic and there is no doubt they have saved my mum’s life.

“Mum went through 18 really difficult months with 11 hospital admittances and six operations, but the team have been absolutely great throughout.

“I just wanted to give something back; thank you just doesn’t seem enough.”

Lead vascular consultant Kieran Dawson said: “We are really grateful to Natalie and her family for supporting us in this way. It’s really motivating to hear such thanks and treating Wendy has been a real pleasure – she is doing really well and we’re all delighted with her progress.”
