Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway promised fans a busy transfer deadline day and so it proved with four signings, bringing the summer influx of new names to 15.

The latest deal of the day saw Cameron Jerome join on a season-long from Stoke City at the same as a deal for former Palace favourite Andy Johnson did not materialise at the 11th hour.

Signing on a permanent basis were full back Jack Hunt from Huddersfield Town on a four-year deal, while Scottish international midfielder Barry Bannan (from Aston Villa) and defender Adrian Mariappa (from Reading) have signed three-year deals.

Going out the Selhurst Park door was centre back Peter Ramage on a season-long loan to Barnsley of the Championship.

Holloway's Palace revolution began almost as soon as last season ended by securing the services of Stephen Dobbie and Kevin Phillips.

Also coming in were: Jose Campana, Jerome Thomas, Dwight Gayle, Elliot Grandin, Marouane Chamakh, Jimmy Kebe, Jason Puncheon, Florian Marange and Neil Alexander.

Bannan, speaking to Palace Player, said: “I went back home to Scotland over the weekend ahead of meeting up with the international squad so I've had to travel back down but it's a great bit of news for me.

“I was at Blackpool with the gaffer here when they got promotion that year and that was probably the highlight of my career so far.

“It is a big move for me to leave Villa and I would like to thank the fans there but it's a new chapter in my life now and I can't wait to get started.

“I want to get myself in the door and start training and hopefully get myself in the team. I haven't played this season and didn't much last year so I can't wait to get going.”
