A man has admitted to sexually assaulting a woman who was queuing for her coat at a nightclub.
Mihaulas-Codrut Lacatus, 28, from East Ham, who used to work in Epsom, appeared at South East Surrey Magistrates’ Court in April, charged with two counts of sexual assault on two women at Elements nightclub in Epsom town centre.
He was alleged to have touched the women, who were talking but did not know each other, on Saturday, March 9, while they were waiting in a queue to collect their coats from the nightclub’s cloakroom, but he pleaded not guilty to both offences.
Standing trial at the court last Thursday, August 29, Lacatus changed his plea to guilty for the first offence, while the second charge was withdrawn, according to a spokesman for the court.
The spokesman said Lacatus would return to the court in October for sentencing and that he is to be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
