As the warm weather comes to an end, Merton residents are invited to see the changing colour of autumn by joining one of over 30 free guided walks.

Transport for London is supporting free walks on September 28 and 29, with expert guides to help residents enjoy the sights, sounds and changing landscape of the capital.

Known as ‘Autumn Ambles’ the walks help Londoners discover landmarks in the capital and a wealth of parks, rivers, canals, open spaces and hidden gems.

On Sunday September 29, one of the walks is from Wimbledon Park to Richmond, which promises glorious scenery all the way through Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common and Park.

Ramblers should meet at 1.30pm at Wimbledon Park Tube station and finish at Richmond Tube station four hours later.

Ben Plowden, Director of Planning, TfL Surface Transport, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to discover how exciting and enjoyable walking in London can be with new and improved walking routes, more public spaces including greenways and better signs to help people easily find where they want to go.

“Join in one of the free walks and be part of the wider family of people taking to greener and healthier ways of getting around in the city.”
