Cheam dad inspired by sister's battle with cancer to run Brighton Marathon
A dad-of-two is raising money in aid of his sister who is fighting breast cancer for the second time.
In April this year his family were shocked to discover his sister Geraldine’s breast cancer had returned.
Mr Devereaux said: "She was originally diagnosed around six years ago and had only recently been given the all-clear so you can imagine what a shock it was to her and the whole family to get this terrible news.
"Inspired by Geraldine's bravery and her positive attitude towards fighting this horrible disease again I resolved that I had to do something to help and decided to run next April's Brighton Marathon.
"I chose BCC as my charity because of their approach to funding the most innovative research projects and their determination to find a way to ultimately beat the disease."
As well as training for the marathon Mr Devereaux has been running a series of online auctions which included items from Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur and the band Marillion.
He added: "I'm determined to raise as much as I can between now and April and make my sister proud."
