Sutton volunteers wanted to tidy up green spaces
Young volunteers are to clean-up Sutton Arena and Greenshaw Woods.
Sutton Council has teamed up with The Challenge - a charity that provides voluntary work for 16-18 year olds – to conduct a litter pick to improve the green spaces while also encouraging young people to have an active involvement in their area.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairman of Sutton Council's environment and neighbourhood committee, said: "The look of the borough is one of the things we are most proud of.
"We have a large number of parks and open spaces that are there for people to enjoy all year round.
"It's great to see that Sutton’s next generation care just as much as we do about our borough's appearance and want to do their bit to ensure it remains in good condition for everyone's enjoyment."
The litter-pick will take place on Saturday 28 September and Sunday 29 September between 11am and 4pm.
