Police are urging to people to make sure their homes are secured after a spate of burglaries in Elmbridge.
In the first incident, a house in Oxshott was burgled in the early hours of Sunday, September 22, after burglars got in through an unsecured back door.
The burglars were able to steal a silver Volkswagen Golf.
A house in East Molesey was also burgled on the same day and some money was stolen after home owners also left their rear door unsecured.
Burglars have also struck during the daytime, with another property in East Molesey targeted on Monday, September 23.
An unlocked rear door allowed burglars to enter the house and various computer items and camera items were stolen.
Sergeant Greg Turner from Surrey Police said: “Residents should be making sure their doors are locked because burglars will seize the opportunity.
“It seems to be the case that these burglaries are more common than people breaking in. This is an issue you can prevent just by locking your doors.”
