A fun evening raised £2,000 to help women stay in education and achieve their full potential.
Networking group Fabulous Women held the event at Imber Court, East Molesey, to raise funds for Plan International’s Because I am a girl campaign, supported by Malala Yosafazi, the 16-year-old girl who was shot by gunmen on her way to school in Pakistan last year.
The evening included entertainment from an Adele tribute act, casino tables using fun money, a disco, raffle and charity auction.
Deputy mayor of Elmbridge Councillor Barry Fairbank was among those who attended.
He said: “I was amazed to see that Fabulous Women has 50 business networking groups which is very impressive and this is very much down to the efforts of Paullette Schwarz, the founder, and her regional directors.
“Congratulations to Fabulous Women for holding this event in aid of such a worthy cause.”
