Musicians, poets and even a mad hatter were out on the streets of Leatherhead on Saturday at the start of a month-long arts festival.
Mole Valley's celebration of the arts, Arts Alive, kicked-off with a street party by the Swan Centre featuring festival highlights.
Highlights from the coming weeks include Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra performing works from their coming season, a five hour dance session by LeRoc Surrey and a performance by BBC Radio 2 host and Queen of Swing, Claire Teal, at Leatherhead Theatre.
Maurice Homewood, chairman of this year's Arts Alive, says: "It's all waiting for you in October."
Arts Alive was established in 1996 as a two-week literature festival but has developed over the years to include all art forms.
