Worcester Park people could notice their post arriving later in the day as the Royal Mail makes changes to the service in the area.

The Royal Mail is making the changes to the way it delivers post in the KT4 postcode area.

From this week, postmen and women will be phasing in new delivery schedules and routes affecting every property in the area.

As a result many people will get their post later in the day although some will get it earlier and the Royal Mail said most people should still get post by lunchtime.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: "The way in which we communicate with each other has changed dramatically. Unfortunately, fewer letters are now posted every day and Royal Mail needs to organise its delivery routes to be as efficient as possible.

"We also deliver more larger items and so we are investing in new equipment to carry these items to customers even more securely. The new equipment also reduces the risk of injury to our postmen and women from carrying heavier mail bags."
