Surrey’s health champion has slammed the controversial review which could axe Epsom Hospital’s acute services for being too focused on improving healthcare standards in London.
Richard Davy, of Healthwatch Surrey, which took over from the Surrey Local Involvement Network (LINk) as the area’s new ‘consumer champion’ in April, said: "We are disappointed that even after we had raised this with them, the Better Services Better Value review is still primarily London-focused and doesn’t truly incorporate or address the needs and concerns of people in Surrey.
"It is understandable why local campaigners and politicians in Surrey are so worried about the review and the impending consultation."
