John Inverdale and two of the Redknapp clan will help Princess Alice Hospice mark Hospice Care Week.

The charity provides free care to people with advanced illness and those approaching the end of their lives in Surrey and south-west London.

Hospice Care Week, which started Monday, is an annual week of activity to help raise the profile of hospice care in the United Kingdom and focuses on the principle that “every moment counts. Every action counts. Because you count”.

Sports presenter John Inverdale and father and son footballers Harry and Jamie Redknapp will speak to patients. Other activities include a buffet lunch, massages and activities to relax.

Volunteers have created a tree on which patients can write their special moments and then attach them to the tree for others to read.
