Brooklands Road in Weybridge is closed to traffic after an accident involving two cars.

Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue and South East Coast Ambulance Service all attended the scene of the accident, which happened shortly before 11.30am. 

A silver Toyota Avensis collided with a grey Audi Q7 close to the roundabout at Heath Road and six people were injured in the accident.  

The driver of the Toyota was cut from the vehicle as a precaution by firefighters and was taken by ambulance to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey. 

Four passengers who were travelling in the Toyota and the driver of the Audi all sustained minor injuries and were treated by ambulance staff. 

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed that three ambulances were sent to the scene, with the driver of the Toyota, a man in his 50s, taken to hospital with neck and back pain.

The road has been closed at the junctions St George’s Avenue and Wellington Way and is expected to remain closed until approximately 2.30pm.
