A new petition by the Talk Easy Trust calls for lessons on mental health to be part of the national curriculum.

The petition was launched by the trust, set up by several students from the John Fisher School, in partnership with mental health charity MindFull after it published a report suggesting one in three young people suffer from a mental health issue.

Aidan McNulty, Chief Executive of Talk Easy said: "In order for all young people to get a better undertstanding of mental health, we believe that lessons in the classroom would be a great step for young people to understand there own mental health and that of others.

"Through this, the stigma related to mental health will begin to reduce."
