Six people were arrested in Elmbridge as part of a two day drug raid operation by Surrey Police.

Operation Kirkos focused on the disruption of the supply of class A and class B drugs and the reduction of serious and acquisitive crime.

During the early morning raids, on Tuesday, October 1, and Thursday, October 3, 43 warrants were executed across the county and 39 people were arrested, along with a quantity of suspected drugs being seized.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs following a warrant at an address off Mayfield Road, Hersham, and has since been released on bail until November 28.

Two people, a 39-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drugs with intent to supply, following a warrant at an address in New Zealand Avenue, Walton, and were both bailed until December 9.

Three people, a 52-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs following a warrant at an address in Hurst Road, West Molesey, and were released on bail until November 14.

Suspected drugs were seized at all three addresses and the substances will now undergo further testing to determine their nature.

Chief Superintendent Matt Twist said: “I’m pleased that the proactive warrants executed by officers across the county during the operation have led to a number of arrests and the seizure of suspected drugs and other property.

“Through our enforcement activity we have demonstrated Surrey Police is serious about cracking down on the supply and use of drugs in our community and targeting burglary and vehicle crime, and that we are capable of taking strong and decisive action.

“It also sends a strong message to those committing crime or dealing drugs that we will relentlessly pursue them.

“I want the community to have confidence in the fact Surrey Police will work hard to make your neighbourhood a pleasant place to live and if necessary we will not hesitate to take such action again in the future.”

Surrey Police made 39 drug-related arrests in total.

The operation also targeted those suspected of committing online offences, with four people arrested by officers from Surrey Police’s paedophile online investigation team.
