Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl had her mobile phone snatched from her hand as she walked home from school.

The 16-year-old was at the junction of Flaxley Road and Love Lane in St Helier near Rose Hill roundabout, on October 9 at about 3.20pm when a man approached her.

As he passed the man grabbed the phone from her hand and then ran off down Flaxley Road before turning into Glastonbury Road and then into Forest Road.

Officers attended the scene immediately and attempted to locate the girl’s phone using the ‘Find my iphone app’ however the phone had already been switched off.

The teenager was taken on a drive around of the area by officers in an attempt to find the man but were unsuccessful.

The thief was described as white, aged between 20 and 24 and was about 6ft.

He was wearing a dark green hooded top, blue jeans and white Nike trainers.
