A councillor has said a big thank you to Sutton’s cab drivers for their donation to Help for Heroes.
For a number of years Sutton South councillor Tony Shields has put on a carvery lunch in aid of the charity.
This year he asked the cabbies for a small donation to pay for raffle prizes. He said: “The Sutton cabbies really have come up trumps with a very substantial contribution of £180.
“This is really good because we can buy the prizes and put a substantial amount straight to the charity. Also Willows Florist nearby has pledged a floral prize for the event."
If you would like to attend the event on Sunday, November 10, contact Heather Howell on 020 8669 2793. The event costs £20 per head and is held at the Tennis club, Devonshire Rd Sutton.
