Guides have X Factor as they aim for singing spot in O2 final
A group of talented guides from the 1st and 5th Sutton Guide Company (Trinity Scout and Guide Group) are one step away from performing at the O2.
The group has reached the regional finals of the annual Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge and will be competing against other London-based performers for a coveted spot in the final later this year.
The girls, performing as Another Dimension, entered the contest with a specially arranged version of Hey Soul Sister, by Train, which impressed judges at a boot camp at the Broadway Theatre, Barking, where they worked with professional choreographers and vocal coaches as part of preparation for the regional final on Saturday, October 19.
If successful there they will battle it out at the indigO2 on November 24 to be crowned Glee Club Challenge champions and win a share of £5,000 worth of prizes for the group.
Guide leader Becki Tolley said: “The girls are really excited about performing and are hoping that a group of guides are maybe the ‘something different’ the judges are looking for.”
1st and 5th Sutton Guides meet at Guide HQ, Clarence Road, Sutton, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7.15pm to 8.45pm for girls aged 10 to 14. Call Becki on 07502 434142.
