A pushchair was set on fire in the early hours of this morning.

The London Fire Brigade were called just after 2.45am to reports of a fire in Victoria Road, Sutton.

A Sutton firefighter said he believed someone deliberately set fire to the folding pushchair which had been left outside the entrance to a block of flats.

A neighbour used buckets of water to put the fire out but smoke had got into the flat causing damage.

Two fire engines from Sutton attended and one from Wallington. The police were called to the scene by the London Fire Brigade and are treating the fire as suspicious.
