Schools in the area have sent a warning to parents after a child was allegedly chased by armed men.
Parents were sent the warning about a student at a nearby school being approached by two men at about 8.15am.
The student, who attends Rosebery School, based in White Horse Drive, Epsom, was allegedly approached by two men in a dark silver 4x4.
The email said one man was black and the other white and they told the girl to get into their car.
It said that when she cycled off, they got out of the car and ran after her for a mile.
One of the men allegedly had something sharp in his hand.
The girl arrived safely at school.
Rosebery School refused to comment on the incident, which is being investigated by Surrey Police.
A police spokeswoman confirmed a girl reported being approached as she was making her way along Dorking Road, Epsom by two strangers “who pulled over and started to her in their car” as she made her way to school.
She said the school contacted the police after the girl told a member of staff about the incident and that they will be interviewing the girl to ascertain the full facts around the allegation.
