Internationally renowned fashion designer John Rocha officially opened Croydon School of Art last week.
The former Croydon College student returned to his roots on Friday, when he and other alumnus attended the relaunch of the school.
After unveiling the school's newly refurbished facilities, Mr Rocha was treated to a fashion show featuring designs by students.
The designer who runs own John Rocha, John Rocha Jeans and Rocha John Rocha labels alongside his collection for Debenhams, attended the School of Art over 30 years ago.
Established in 1868 Croydon School of Art, which is part of Croydon College, was one of the top art schools in the country.
Other famous alumni include musician and designer Malcolm McLaren and artist and anarchist Jamie Reid, best known for his work on the Sex Pistols album.
Many of the original traditional screen printing, etching, relief printing and letterpress equipment have been retained for use in the school but students will also be able to work with the latest computers and digital facilities.
