Mayor of London Ken Livingstone has again promised there will be no further council tax increases to help fund the 2012 Olympics.
An additional charge was added to bills in every London borough, including Croydon, to help pay for the Games.
The move has been criticised by many, particularly pensioners who are angry at the fact they might not live to see a sporting event they are being asked to help pay for.
But speaking the BBC Radio London Mr Livingstone said: "Last year we set the Olympics council tax precept at 38 pence for the average London council tax payer."
