VIDEO: Snooker legend Jimmy White takes on North Cheam Sports and Social club
Snooker legend Jimmy White teamed up with a group of friends to raise £2,700 for a boy with Lukaemia - who none of them had ever met.
"The Whirlwind" and star of I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! spent an evening at North Cheam Sports and Social Club on Thursday, October 24, to help raise money for seven-year-old Oliver Kelly from Hertfordshire.

During the evening snooker fans donated £500 to take on Jimmy and one generous bidder paid £800 during an auction - but instead of playing the frame himself he handed the snooker cue to the real star of the event, Oliver.

His mum Rebecca Kelly, a former cabin crew member for easyJet, said: "It was such a lovely night - everyone made us feel welcome.
"I’m just speechless to say the least - it was the best night. He had a lovely time and they treated him like a superstar.
"Jimmy White was really lovely - we didn’t know what to expect. He was the most friendly and approachable bloke ever. He couldn’t do enough for us - he was just down to earth.
"They put us up in the Travel Lodge hotel and we stayed there.
"Oliver has got a bit of a cold now after all the excitement and late nights but you’ve got to let him have good times when you can."
Oliver’s family have had a difficult year following the death of his father and his diagnoses of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in March 2012 but they keep on smiling and have a whole host of adventures they plan to carry out with the money.
Bargain: Fans got to watch the event and enjoy a buffet for £15
Organiser and North Cheam Sports and Social Club member Alan Boys, known as Boysie, said the venue was packed-out with up to 150 people but Jimmy White was unbeatable with no-one coming close to beating him.
He added: "It was a great evening- I have never known so many people to shake my hand. It was hard organising but it was a pleasure."
