Pupils from Selhurst's BRIT School took to the stage at the iconic Royal Albert Hall last week to wow the crowd at the third annual Dance Proms.

The group performed individual pieces as well alongside 24 of the best young dance acts in the UK in a stunning finale involving 450 dancers.

The BRIT School dancers performed tap and contemporary dance pieces.

Their teacher, Julia Dark, said: "“We feel privileged to be a part of Dance Proms for the second year running, being surrounded by so many others who share our enthusiasm for dance and to be recognised on this incredible platform, such an honour. What a great night."

Pupil Kyle Taylor said: "We are so excited to be performing at Dance Proms 2013 and to see the combined talents of all the different dance groups.

Lauren Oakley, another BRIT School pupil, added: "It is so inspirational to see so many diverse dance acts of such different ages and genres brought together for an event of this scale."

To qualify for Dance Proms, teachers submitted a short dance piece featuring original choreography in any genre, performed as a solo, couple, trio or group performance.

This year, genres ranged from traditional ballet and Greek dance to rock, street dance and cheerleading.
