A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after a crash on the A3 this morning.
London Ambulance said they treated the man for a back injury, and took him to Kingston Hospital.
They sent an ambulance and a single car responder shortly before 6.30am.
The crash involved two cars, a spokeswoman said.
One lane has been closed on the A3 at Hook.
An oil spillage and recovery work on the southbound carriageway mean long tailbacks, as far back as the New Malden junction.
