Epsom fell silent at 11am this morning to remember all those who fought and died for their country.
A two minute silence and service in the marketplace by the clock tower marked Armistice Day, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, bringing to an end World War One.
Shoppers and residents along with members of the British Legion and serving members of the Army took part in the ceremony to honour those who fell in war.
The Mayor of Epsom, Councillor Colin Taylor, led a procession from the town hall to the marketplace for a wreath laying ceremony before the two minute silence.
Reverend Rosemary Donovan, the mayor’s chaplain and vicar of Christ Church in Epsom Common, spoke during the service.
Christ Church was among the churches that had a service yesterday to mark Remembrance Sunday.
