Bright lights and huddling together in a crowded street can only mean one thing; the boroughs Christmas lights are about to be turned on.

With the festive season creeping up quickly, sparkling lights will soon be gracing the high streets as the countdown to Christmas begins.

Cobham leads the way with its Christmas lights switch on, with takes place at 6pm on Friday, November 29.

To help mark the occasion, a walking light parade, stalls and late night shop opening will also take place.

Over in Esher, the town will be filled with glistening festive lights from 6pm on Friday, November 29.

Dominic Raab, MP for Esher and Walton, will turn on the lights at 6.25pm and the huge tree which will stand outside the Bear will also be lit up.

Other festivities include choirs, brass brands, Christmas carols and mince pies alongside a collection for Save the Children. On December 1, it will be Thames Ditton’s turn to light up.

A fair will take place in the village from 3pm to 6pm and the Christmas lights go on at 5pm at the Lime Tree.

A Christmas extravaganza takes place in Bridge Street, East Molesey on Friday, December 6.

The event will run from 5pm to 7pm, with many shops open once the carols, stalls and other entertainment has finished.

Meanwhile in Claygate, a Christmas lights event will take place on December 7 from 4pm to 5.30pm and will include carols, stalls and fireworks.
