A schoolgirl has made the bold decision to have her long hair cut to help children with cancer.
Lacie Alessandro from New Addington, told her mum she wanted to cut her long hair so it could be made into a wig for children cancer patients.
The six-year-old who has only ever had her hair trimmed, will have it chopped next month and will donate her hair to the Royal Marsden Hospital where they will transform it into wigs.
The Castle Hill school pupil said: "I want to cut my hair for children that haven't got hair and raise money for toys- I have already got £60.
"I have only had my hair trimmed down the bottom, but I am going to cut it up to my shoulders. I am not scared though- I want to raise £500."
Her mum Lisa said she was very proud of Lacie's decision.
She said: "Her hair is so long and thick, trying to manage it can be hard. She needs it cut, but it is so nice she wants to donate her hair to the Royal Marsden. It is a good cause and the fact she is only six makes it just a little bit more special.
"She would like to raise money to buy toys, so if there is something they need and we can afford to get it we will."
