Following some recent health problems I was admitted to Croydon University Hospital.
My initial reaction was 'oh no I have heard it's awful in there' but i must say that my experience was very different from the bad things I had heard.
Everyone from the ambulance staff to the A&E staff were brilliant very kind and efficient.
I was then admitted to Queens 2 ward and was in for another surprise it was very calm despite being busy the staff were all very kind from the cleaners to the care assistants, nurses and various doctors.
It seemed as though i were getting some sort of deluxe treatment.
Upon my arrival I was handed a comprehensive menu and told that a hot meal would be ready for me in about 20 minutes. There was a good selection of vegetarian options and i chose the curry which was brilliant.
Based on this if the rest of the hospital is run on these grounds then I think that C.U.H. has indeed turned a corner and certainly does not deserve the reputation that it has.
