A six year old boy is leading the search for a new Beaver leader at his Scout Troop in Purley.

When Logan White heard that The 8th Purley Scout Troop, located at St. Mary’s, Sanderstead, was looking for a new Beaver leader, he decided to do his bit by writing a flyer.

In the flyer, Logan, who goes to St Peter's Primary School, South Croydon, explains what he loves about Beavers and then begs the reader for their help.

In the flyer, Logan said: "Please can you help, I love Beavers!"

Logan later said he wrote the flyer because he didn’t want to lose Beavers and hoped the next leader would “be nice and have fun”.

The Troop is looking for a new Beaver leader to replace the current leader who will be taking over the Cubs in January.

If nobody can be found by then, the current Beaver leader will have to run both the Beaver and Cub groups, one after the other on Monday evenings.

Yvonne Lamont, Group Scout Leader at the 8th Purley Scout Troop, said that dates and times are flexible and being a leader is a rewarding role.

She said: "You just get so much out of it."

Mrs Lamont and her husband, Brian, won the 2012 Croydon Champions Community Award for their work at the Scout Troop.
