Three men have been arrested after police officers stumbled upon a cannabis farm while raiding a house in South Norwood during a burglary investigation.

Officers executing a search warrant at the property in Elborough Road on Saturday found a number of plants, thought to be cannabis, as well as growing equipment in the loft.

A search of adjoining houses led to the discovery of more plants.

The men - aged 20, 30 and 52 - were arrested on suspicion of burglary and production of cannabis. They were bailed to return to a south London police station in mid-January, pending further enquiries.

Police had been searching the house in connection to a burglary on November 14.
