The 7th Epsom Scouts Shooting Club hit the bullseye at the National Scout Rifle Championships at Bisley last weekend, winning three medals.
The truest shot belonged to Suzy Shuttleworth, who won gold in the 300-yard fullbore, while Kieran Gall won silver in field target, and Matthew O’Neill won silver in the 25-yard smallbore.
Shuttleworth’s extraordinary score of 25.20, out of 25.50, was a new championship record, beating the previous record of 24.30.
The club also narrowly missed out on other medals. In the four team events, Epsom recorded three fourth -place finishes, and one seventh place spot.
The squad was Ruairi O’Leary, Jay Arnold, Kieran Gall, Barney Chartres, Jake Pagden, Lucy Hunnable, Suzy Shuttleworth, Sam Hunnable, Stephanie Williams, Christian Vander and Emma, James and Matthew O’Neill.
