Sutton School of Gymnastics took on the nation’s best at the English Gymnastics Novice Open Competition and came home with a haul of four gold medals.

Ella Little, 11, triumphed as the all-around English Champion in the junior age group, while Francesca Sinnerton, also 11, won gold on the senior floor and beam, just missing out on overall gold by 0.2 points.

Arina Moharrami, 14, completed the successful weekend in Leicester by becoming English Champion on vault.

The national titles follow on from the previous weekend where Little and Moharrami teamed up to win gold at the London Gymnastics’ Twin Piece Championships held at Heathrow Gymnastics Club.

Sutton School of Gymnastics has not only excelled in women’s artistic gymnastics, but also in floor and vault competitions.

Ophelia Arnett, Abigail Featherstone-Griffin, Serena Skinner and Ella Viera all won gold and became regional champions at their respected levels at the London Gymnastics Floor and Vault Competitions held at Redbridge Leisure Centre last weekend.

The club moved into an old warehouse on the Willow Lane Estate in Mitcham Junction in May 2013, and has turned it into a state-of-the-art gymnastics centre, fully equipped with all new apparatus and equipment used from the London 2012 Olympics.

The gymnasts are now preparing for the Sutton School of Gymnastics Club Championships, which will allow all the gymnasts to show off their skills to family and friends.
