The funeral of a long standing stalwart of Merton’s volunteering sector will be held next week.
Chris Frost, chief executive of the Merton Voluntary Service Council (MSVC), died in her sleep in the early hours of Thursday, November 7, at the age of 67.
A funeral service will be held on November 26 at 12 noon at St Andrew’s Church in south Wimbledon which will be followed by a private cremation.
All are invited to join Ms Frost’s family at the Charles Holden Pub in Colliers Wood following the service in celebrating her life.
For nearly three decades Ms Frost worked to support Merton’s voluntary sector and was one of MVSCs founding members when it was set up in 1985.
The night of her death Ms Frost had attended the Compact Awards which champions partnership working within local government where she was named the winner of this year’s chair's special award.
Ms Frost’s family have requested that instead of flowers, those who would like to make a charitable contribution should donate to the Merton Community Fund.
