At a recent council meeting a proposal to support St Helier Hospital by using council vehicles as message boards was dismissed as too expensive.
Further discussion with Council leader Ruth Dombey via Twitter was met with silence and can only conclude Sutton Council are apathetic to the fate of St Helier.
I would like local businesses to contact the Sutton Guardian and also Carshalton and Wallington CLP to register an interest in sponsoring a vehicle that supports the community view in saving essential services.
The only cost to local taxpayer will be fitting the message onto council vehicles which should be small as the poster is supplied by the sponsor.
We are confident that a weather proof poster can be brought in under £200 from local printers.
Although BSBV involvement has been suspended for the time being the closure of St Helier is still in the balance; can the business community alongside all those believing in the invaluable work done by our NHS, work together and make history by urging this council to take action?
