Police and council officers will come together for a week of enforcement action across the borough.

Starting on Monday, November 25, Surrey Police and Elmbridge Council will work together to resolve issues identified by residents in the council’s community safety survey and at recent neighbourhood police panel meetings.

Cycling on pavements, the use of mobile phones while driving, jumping red lights and speed enforcements are among the issues which will be tackled.

Antisocial behaviour including littering, dog fouling, fly-tipping and graffiti will also be monitored.

Peter Kipps, Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership manager, said the joint resources of the council and police together will help to achieve greater effectiveness.

David Hollingsworth, Elmbridge neighbourhood inspector, said: “One of the main principles of neighbourhood policing is to work with communities to identify and deal with the things that are most important to them.

“The week of action will allow all our local policing teams together with our partners to do just that.”
