Mitcham residents have helped raise more than £600 for families devastated by Typhoo Haiyan.
A Winter Bazaar, held on November 17 in Mitcham High Street, raised a total of £663 in support of the relief effort.
Organised by Invigor8, a project bringing eight weeks of "pop-up creativity" to Mitcham, the event featured stalls with items from south east Asia including the Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia.
All money will go directly to Polopiña, a small island off the coast of Iloilo which was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan earlier this month.
Speaking from the Phillipines Monique Prats, whose elderly mother lives on Polopiña, said: "Thank you so very much for prioritizing Polopiña.
"You cannot imagine how grateful we are and the help it will provide the people here.
"Although there is plenty help coming to the Yolanda victims, almost all of it is going towards Tacloban Concepcion.
"Where Polopiña is was the location of the fifth landfall and they seemed to have neglected that.
"So really, sincerely, thank you so very much."
