The man behind international best-selling children’s series Diary Of A Wimpy Kid will come to Kingston for an exclusive book signing next month.
Author Jeff Kinney, whose stories chronicling the life of middle school student Greg Heffley have sold more than 75 million copies worldwide, will be at Waterstones bookstore in the Bentall Centre on Saturday, December 7.
It will be the US-based author’s only public signing session in the UK this year, where he will be autographing copies of his latest Wimpy Kid book, entitled Hard Luck.
The eight title in the Wimpy Kid series, Hard Luck recently knocked former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s autobiography off the top of the official UK book chart, while also deposing David Walliams’ Demon Dentist from the summit of the children’s list.
Waterstones Kingston are expecting big queues for the special event, and are advising fans to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Chris Denyer, events manager at Waterstones Kingston, said: “We’re really excited to have Jeff Kinney coming to Waterstone’s Kingston.
“Personally, I’m a huge fan of his books and they’re a great way to get children into reading.
“Because he lives in the US, this is a huge opportunity for fans as this is the only public signing he’s done in the UK all year.”
Customers will be allowed a maximum of two books to have signed by Jeff Kinney, and must include one copy of Hard Luck.
A series of Wimpy Kid-themed activities will be taking place throughout the queue to keep children entertained as they wait.
