A family dressed as superheroes abseiled down one of Croydon’s tallest buildings for charity.

Gautam Raval, from Croydon, was joined by members of his family, Pallvi Sharma, Bina Brown, Dipali Jani, Jaydev Raval, Suraj Peshavaria, Parag Raval and his 18 year old niece Ayesha Sharma in abseiling down the Jury’s Inn hotel.

They raised more than £2,000 for the Fire Fighters Charity that provides support for firefighters injured in the line of duty.

On November 16, the eight family members completed the challenge with the help of Over the Edge Adventures UK Ltd who supplied the equipment and training.

Gautam Raval said: "It was an overwhelming experience for us all. But it was something I really wanted to do for this great cause after firefighters came to the rescue for a member of my family and the fact that my cousins all joined in to raise money for this amazing charity made it all the more special.

“We are all very proud if what we have achieved and are now thinking of jumping out of a plane for our next fundraiser!"
