House damaged in suspected arson attack
An investigation is underway following a suspected arson attack in Mitcham.
Firefighters were called to Linton Close at about 9pm last night to reports of a fire at a semi-detached house.
Damage was caused to the front door and it is believed a lit item was then pushed through the letterbox.
No one was in the house at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.
Ten firefighters from Mitcham and Wallington were able to put out the fire in under 20 minutes with just five percent damage caused.
Fire investigation teams are looking into the cause of the fire.
