Hackbridge is getting a £1m face-lift.
The Heart of Hackbridge Project will see tree planting, pavement widening along London Road and improvements to shop fronts.
Sutton Council, the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Sutton environmental charity BioRegional, have been working to deliver a number of projects in Hackbridge over two years.
Work is due to start on Monday, November 25, and will be carried out by construction firm RJ Dance.
Councillor John Drage, the Hackbridge programme champion, said: "Once completed these improvements will breathe new life into the area."
The improvements will cost over £925,000, of which nearly £360,000 will be met by Sutton Council while GLA with TfL contributing a further £565,000.
