Hundreds of mourners turned out to pay their respects to a long standing stalwart of Merton’s volunteering sector today.

Chris Frost, chief executive of the Merton Voluntary Service Council (MSVC), died in her sleep in the early hours of Thursday, November 7, at the age of 67.

A service was held at St Andrew’s Church in south Wimbledon this afternoon to pay tribute to the life of Ms Frost who for nearly three decades worked to support Merton’s voluntary sector.

She was one of the MVSCs founding members when it was set up in 1985.

Following the service the congregation moved to the Charles Holden Pub in Colliers Wood to celebrate her life.

Ms Frost’s family have requested that instead of flowers, those who would like to make a charitable contribution should donate to the Merton Community Fund.
