Aid funded and supported by Carshalton Beeches Rotary Club, is starting to reach areas of the Philippines devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.

The rotary club has so far sent two aqua boxes and one five pack Water Survival Box, which will be allocated to the worse affected areas providing water, tents, clothing, blankets and cooking utensils to the victims.

Each ‘Water Survival Box’ costs £350 and contains survival equipment to help communities get though the coming months. A water box funded by the rotary club has been allocated to support the residents of Roxas.

Through further collections the club hopes to fund another Water Survival multiple box to be sent to the Philippines.

President of Carshalton Beeches Rotary, Brian Hagley, said: “The Water boxes will be used to provide long term and sustainable support for survivors of the typhoon.

“To keep this relief effort going, Rotary members are mobilising to raise funds, make donations and help in any way that they can.

“Funds donated by members of the public will support the relief effort and enable victims to reclaim their lives.”
